What is a Parish Nurse?

A Parish Nurse works alongside the local church as part of that community.

Parish Nursing balances the knowledge and skills of a qualified nurse with the faith and practice of the local church.

The Parish Nurse works with the support of members of the local church.

Parish Nursing believes in the sacredness of all people and values them with dignity and respect.

The Parish Nurse helps individuals to become more active partners in the management of their personal health, including health promotion and diet education for all ages.

The Parish Nurse is available for all, not just Church members.
